Ivanhoe v Bamville - 27 June 2010

Somehow the problem with the Ive’s batting needs to be resolved as after an opening stand of 59 on the hottest day of the summer, assisted by some wayward opening bowling by Bamville the remaining 9 wickets could only muster 58 runs.

Bob (35) and Denis (16) got the innings off to the start required after Adrain elected to bat, but against some teasing but not particularly dangerous slow bowling the remaining batsmen contrived to get themselves out apart from Andy H with a fine 21and only ended when he ran himself out with an over to go,and some assistance from Malcolm with 10 and Phil K with 8 the score crept up to 127.

The Bamville target never looked like being enough and so it proved despite a good bowling performance as always from everyone. Max (3 overs for 15), Andy C (4 overs for 29), Denis (3 overs for 8) and Richard (6 overs for 34) all bowled without any luck as Andy H confirmed his man of the match performance with 2 for 27 from 8 overs. Wickets to Adrian (1 for1 in I over) and Jonathan (1 for 14 in 1.1 overs) came to late to effect the result, as Bamville won by 6 wickets.
