Ivanhoe v Caddington – 16 May 2010

Firstly a warm welcome to Duncan his first match for the Ives albeit one curtailed by the weather.

Still unbeaten this season after 4 matches but unfortunately the match had to be abandoned after 30 overs due to heavy rain.  In that time, with Adrian again winning the toss and electing to bowl, Caddington were reduced to  92 for 3 after Andy H and Max sharing the first 16 overs conceded only 39 runs which would have been less had it not been helped by some ‘tree falling’ slip fielding by Andy C aiding there score.  Notwithstanding Andy H finished with 0 for 16 and Max 0 for 23.

Andy C and Richard took up the bowling attack and despite conceding 9 runs in his first over and being interrupted by the rain Richard took the only 3 wickets to fall and when the rain finally caused the match to be abandoned had figures of 3 for 24 from 7 overs and Andy C 0 for 29 from 7.  The one catch went to wicket keeper Phil K sprinting from behind the stumps and preventing Duncan claiming the catch in his first match.

Hopefully better weather next weekend at Southill.
