Ivanhoe v East Harling - 6 June  2010

Still smarting from four losses on the trot. Ives turned out into the field at East Harling a little the worse for wear on day three of the tour. Hangovers aside, Ivanhoe kept a tight field during the first half of the innings - Andy H bowled eight overs for just fifteen runs while Max only gave away 27 runs during his spell on a hard, true wicket. At drinks E. Harling only had sixty runs on the table, but crucially had only lost one wicket. The second half saw E. Harling slowly make ground despite more good bowling stints from Rich P and Dennis leaving Ives chasing a total of 192 at tea.

Ivanhoe struggled to make headway from the start of their batting innings, and despite openers Dennis & Capt Adrian still being at the crease after 20 overs – accurate and testing bowling through out kept Ives pinned down leaving the tourists a daunting 153 to win off the last 20 overs. Dennis carved a hard-earned 59 before succumbing followed shortly by Adrian . The expected batting collapse didn't follow. Max knocked up a quick 31 before being caught,Rich P went for 10, Phil P for 6 and Philip K ended the overs not out on 19 with Ciaran on 5 proving Ives can chase a decent target – even if they need a few more overs to get there!
