RUMBURGH  V  IVES -  5th June 2010  

Game two of the tour and the Presidents new home village  - what extra pressure.  

Rumburgh win the toss and bat on a humid afternoon in a 40 over game.

Ives as normal start with tight bowling from Andy H 0-13  from 8 oversand Max in 3 spells 2-13 in 8 overs.The wickets are shared around with Den 2-40 one of which a wonderfull caught and bowled, Lawrie with 2-16 from his first outing of the season and Ciaran carring on from Fridays game with some form 2-23. With some tight fielding and bowling Rumburgh are all out for 142 a total well within the Ives reach on this track.  

Opening the batting Den and Bob make a steady start, but with the departure of Den brings Max to the arena to which he bags a GOLDEN DUCK.  Panic- but out to bat young Lionel to steady the ship with Bob the batsmen, Bob departs (22) from a lifting ball  Lionel (10) soon follows - more Panic.  Out  in middle  Adrian under pressure from the President umpiring at one end and the pressure of a Ives middle order slows the run rate down to snails pace with only 13 runs coming  from 9 overs .With Lawrie at the wicket runs increase but when Lawrie is out for 10 its Ciaran  turn to get run out, twice in as many games, by the skipper.

With runs still hard to find and overs running out Ives are all out off the last ball with Badders also a GOLDEN, out for 129 with Adrian on 30 not out and a Rumburgh victory.
