Ivanhoe v Crawley
Green Nomads - 10 May 2008
First defeat of the season
but not all bad news. A hot and
humid afternoon and maybe the die was cast with Adrian winning his first toss of
the season and with the knowledge that Ive’s were not at their strongest
having to put Crawley Green into bat. However good opening spells from Mat (1
– 29) and Andy (2 –33) left
Crawley Green on 8 – 2. However 34 fom Cochrane and a late 29 from Hull left
them on 161 all out in 35 overs after good bowling spells Denis (2
–30), and from the younger players, Saj (2 –30 in 8 overs), Roshan (1 – 7
in 4 overs) and Richard (1 – 14 in 3 overs) together with Chris taking his
second cacth in 2 weeks and Bob doing a fine impression of Paul Collingwoood to
run out Crawley Green’s last man with a diret hit from mid off.
Not much to say about the
batting. Mat (26) and Bob (29) were the main contributors with Saj offering a
quickfire 15. That apart and with
Richard 0 not out at the end and Roshan also having an opportunity to face a few
overs, Ives’s were never really in the hunt and the innings ended on 98 all
out.
