Ivanhoe v Hillingdon Manor – 26 April 2008 

In complete contrast to the previous week the sun shone and short sleeves were the order of the day.  Put into bat Ive’s made a good start with an opening stand of 59 between Malcolm & Denis before, following a double bowling change for Hillingdon, 4 wickets fell in quick succession leaving Ive’s on 85 for 4.  However Matt and Adrian rebuilt the inning with a fine 5^th wicket stand of  111 before Mat departed for 71 and with Andy coming in for the final couple of overs the innings closed on 208 for 6 with good contributions from Denis 17, Malcolm 35 and an unbeaten 42 from Adrian.

In response Hillingdon made a slow start against tight bowling from Chris (1 for 4 in 8 overs) and Lawrence (0 for 15 in 8 overs), leaving themselves well behind the run rate. Andy then came on from the top end and continued his good start to the season taking 3 for 16 in 6 overs, and with Denis, Thompson, to everyone’s surprise Bob, and Adrian with two in the last over, all taking wickets Hillingdon’s innings closed on the last ball all out for 108 to  provide another good win for the Ive’s at the start of the season.
